March 2026 became Ontario's largest regulated iGaming month by wagering volume. iGaming Ontario data showed approximately $9.59 billion in total cash wagers, moving past January's previous record of about $9.52 billion.
Casino set the pace
Online casino wagering reached roughly $8.33 billion, another record. Casino represented about 87% of the total amount wagered and generated roughly $318.5 million in gaming revenue.
| Category | March 2026 | What stood out |
|---|---|---|
| Total iGaming | $9.59B handle | New monthly record |
| Casino | $8.33B handle | Record casino wagering |
| Sports betting | $1.08B handle | Down year over year |
| P2P poker | $183M handle | Record poker handle |
Sports betting told a different story
Sports betting handle was about $1.08 billion and was lower than the same month a year earlier, even as betting revenue improved. That split is a reminder that total market growth does not mean every vertical is moving in the same direction.
Poker reached its own record
Peer-to-peer poker handle was approximately $183 million, a record for the regulated Ontario market. Poker remains a small share of total activity, but March showed that smaller verticals can still grow even when casino dominates the overall picture.
The bigger trend
Ontario was approaching the fourth anniversary of its April 2022 market launch when it posted the March record. The result reinforced a broader pattern: casino growth is doing most of the heavy lifting in the province's mature regulated market.
